Safety & reporting

Clippy currently edits files locally and can publish to a YouTube account you authorize. It does not provide a public gallery, feed, or Clippy-hosted video-sharing service. We cannot inspect or remotely remove files that exist only on someone else's computer, or remove someone else's YouTube upload.

Report a concern

Email a safety report concerning unauthorized use of someone's image or voice, threats, impersonation, exploitation, or a privacy concern involving Clippy. Include a brief description and the public URL if one exists. Do not attach intimate imagery, illegal material, private credentials, or a copy of a child's sensitive content. Reports are handled as support information under our privacy policy.

If content is on YouTube, also use YouTube's reporting process or privacy complaint process. Reporting to Clippy does not substitute for reporting to the platform hosting the content. For an immediate threat, contact emergency services; this inbox is not an emergency response service.

Responsible editing and publishing

Use recordings and other content you have the right to use. Respect privacy, consent, copyright, and rights in a person's image and voice. Do not use Clippy for child exploitation, nonconsensual intimate imagery, fraud, threats, or deceptive impersonation. Review transcripts, captions, generated titles, and edits before publishing. An edit can remove context or introduce an error.

Select the correct YouTube audience and altered-content disclosures for each video. Using editing or transcription tools does not justify a blanket “not made for kids” or “not altered” declaration for every video.

Children's information

The current service is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian concerned that a child provided information to us can contact us. Our children's privacy section explains the current approach.
